Filming with peak professional equipment! (To me at least...)

Image
 Well by this time I (and I hope others as well) enjoyed a good meal with my family and for me got around to filming a couple of sections of the music video. So overall for filming I wanted shots to be as still as possible to get the shots the way I want them for when I edit it together. And for this, I made use of the tool that I created for my previous project. But overall, it is possible to see the small cuts from each of the moments which makes it look shakey. So! I purchased a tripod which let put my phone (video taking tool of choice as of this time) in one spot to take a shot or multiple in an orientation I need which makes some things easier. So with it, I was able to get some of the shots I needed (and dropped the drone idea) and it was actually kinda fun to bring it around and just put it down in places. While filming each time I take a shot I have to run back and make sure that the results were satisfactory. This became a bit of a bother but regardless I recorded the scenes

Planning Storyboard for my Music Video

Image
 Now for my storyboard, the average length of each scene would take around 5 seconds each to come together to make 12 pictures and descriptions to encompass the plan shown by the storyboard. Scene 1 In this scene, it starts out with a mid-shot with several many short shots of the actor getting out of bed. In this shot, the camera mustn't move so it will be recorded as one long shot and cut into shots less than 5 seconds. This sequence will go in time with the music that will be playing. This will come up to about 12 shots being used in the first 5 or so seconds and then a while also being a short shot it would be much longer and have a pan to a door exiting the room. I feel like including an easter egg or something like that in it as something random to give a light and funny feeling in the beginning. Scene 2 The second shot would also be a wide shot that is composed of multiple clips. In these shots, it will show a different part of the same room but in these shots, it will be the

Planning for my Music Video

Image
 Now for the plan for this music video to be recorded for the assignment  ages! The song that I planned on using which was mentioned previously is Feels Like Summer  by Childish Gambino . The genre for this song is R&B/Soul so the overall tone feels chill and relaxing. The main part of the story that I'm planning to make is to have something to do with traveling. This idea came from the original music video as it was mainly composed of an animated Childish Gambino walking down a long path all the way to his home while showing parts of other people's lives throughout the video. For my video, however, while it may have traveled the overall story will be different from the original. The props would include a way to cause a need for travel so it could be a letter or text/call on the phone. Since it's traveling another thing needed would be the outside (I guess?). A starting and ending location is also needed. There will also need to be reminders about the reason for travel

Research Blog: Music Video Conventions

Image
 Now! The first thing to get down is research about music videos. Some music tends to have an intro story or something of that nature before the actual music starts to play while some others start right at the beginning. The music video for  Feels Like Summer  starts off with the music playing with the introduction. Overall, the video does not really carry a specific story but goes around small parts of other people's lives. Depending on the genre of the music video it might carry a different tone with the story. An example of this, in my opinion, is the music video for the song  MAPS  by Maroon 5 (Did not include the music video as it used explicit language) , I would feel would have carried a lighter tone but that was quickly washed away. Some song basically has the script embedded into itself. An example of this was a song called the locket  by atlas . I was not able to find a music video for this but by listening to it I could almost imagine how the setting would look as if I w

Introduction to the Music Video Project

Image
Surprise surprise! A new project enters the fray! So for this project, I will again be working with the illustrious group compromising of Me, Myself, and I. Our previous project went well and we feel that we may be able to go farther than before. We also can cooperate fairly well and think very similarly which lets the whole process flow well and minimizes the need for a lot of speech because we are just conveniently really close with each other. The song I decided to choose was Feels Like Summer  by Childish Gambino  (or Donald Glover). The reason I chose this song is that right now I have been in my apartment and I haven't left since my school initially went into lockdown (minus throwing out the trash but it doesn't count alright) . And for this song, I want to be a bit more adventurous and get some outdoor air along with some interesting clips to cu- wait this is just an intro so that's confidential. It's also getting colder so at the same time it does not feel like

if {postCommercial == done} system.out.println(thoughts);

 Now that the commercial is done I would like to reflect on what I have done to get a better understanding of how I felt I did on the commercial. So overall, I felt like my commercial could fit like an ad on Youtube. With it being so short it would get the point across rather quickly that it is a controller for PC that can be used for some games. This commercial could be in the interest of someone that likes to play games on a computer because some games don't work well keyboard and that's when a controller could be a better option. Just like the problem the person in the commercial experienced this can also apply to other people. In my own opinion, I feel like this commercial in a way follows suit with commercials that basically present a common problem and provides their own product as a solution to it. The way the commercial engagement with the audience that would be in a way of telling a story. Startingnansitions off with a problem that was later solved by the product as th

if {editing == done} {PostCommercial};

 And here is the grand reveal! I'm really proud of the outcome of this and it even makes me want to buy another controller. Overall this experience will help me with my goal to become an indie developer and with the proper equipment, I know that I would be able to produce something with much higher quality. Overall, I really enjoyed the process of creating this and rewatching it as it came into creation.
